A post mortem has found a teenager died after receiving a single shotgun wound to the chest.

Mohammed Hussein, 19, was found by police called to Bounces Road, Lower Edmonton, after reports of shots being fired at 21:45 BST on Monday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made and officers say they are keeping an “open mind”.

Det Ch Insp John Sandlin has appealed for anyone in the area at the time of the incident to contact police.

He said: “If you have any information – no matter how small – that can help identify those responsible, please come forward and assist us.”

Albertine Nzeyimana, who lives near the scene, said she heard two shots while in her sitting room.

She saw someone lying on the ground injured and feared it could have been one of her own three children.

She said: “I know someone like me is in tears; she’s crying, she’s crying, a mother who has lost her child.”
