Genuine or forged: Document confirming money received from Somaliland minister by Sheffield based group

 – 22 April 2014 – Controversy surrounding the amount of £20,000 designated for Sheffield Somaliland recognition campaign has prompted the government of Somaliland to leak the document shown below which clearly shows the amount received by Sheffield community.

The expenses included the travel cost of the attending Somaliland officials as well as the celebration expenses of day of the recognition . Somaliland media have accused the minister of mineral resources of Somaliland and other officials attending Sheffield event of having used the funds allocated for the event. There seems to be some division among the organizers of the event.  Some have denied receiving or knowing about the funds allocated for the event  while others had confirmed receiving the money as shown in the above document.
It is very difficult to verify the authenticity of the letter which carries addresses in Sheffield and was issued on the 4rth of April 2014 by ISRAAC Charity presumably based in Sheffield . Upon Googling ISRAAC , we found out that ISRAAC is Somali Community and Cultural Association and not Somaliland Association as mentioned in the letter .
Sheffield Council officially recognized Somaliland as a sovereign state on the 2nd of April 2014.
