Jawahir Jamal Ahmed is representing the country of Somalia. However, Jawahir is determined to a play a role in the rebuilding of Somalia; back to it’s natural state. Jawahir is a alumni of Utah State University where she received her undergraduate in Health Education and Promotion with an emphasis in Health Sciences.

Jawahir was also an ambassador at Utah State University where she recruited and aided high school students to attend USU. Jawahir also worked for AmeriCorps, AmericaReads and CPASS. At CPASS Jawahir was a project coordinator for a college preparation program geared toward minorities. Currently Jawahir works at the University of Utah hospital where she works closely with mentally ill patients.

Jawahir’s platform for Miss Africa Utah was ‘Operation Education Save a Nation’ where her goal was to educate the Somali youth that have been deprived of an education for years. Jawahir’s platform for Miss Africa USA is also Operation Education Save a Nation but her goal is to spread awareness and raise funds towards the mentally ill in Somalia. 1/3 of the population has some sort of mental health illness; which is a extremely saddening statistic provided from WHO (World Health Origination).
Since researching on this topic, Jawahir has been using Operation Education Save a Nation to educate others about this shocking statistic. Jawahir plans to aid Somali mental health facilitators by raising funds and awareness toward the individuals that have a mental health disorder.
