Evra in Man <br/> Utd quit vow

PATRICE EVRA is set to quit Manchester United after David Moyes’ move for Leighton Baines.

The 32-year-old does not want to play second fiddle at Old Trafford for the left-back spot.

Now the five-time title winner is ready to move back to former club Monaco for £6million.

New boss Moyes returned to old club Everton with a £12million bid for England left-back Baines, 28, on Thursday.

It was immediately rejected by Goodison Park chairman Bill Kenwright, who wants £16m.

France ace Evra, who has also won the Champions League with United, has been first-choice left-back for seven years.

He has also previously captained the club in the absence of Nemanja Vidic.

The man who speaks four languages is also seen as a huge influence in the dressing room.

But there have been question marks over his form during the past two seasons.

Evra arrived at United in a £5.5million move from Monaco in January 2006.

But the big-spending Ligue 1 club are now interested in taking him back.

As for Baines, he has two years left on his current deal and Everton are prepared to offer him a new contract.

But the prospect of signing for United could prove too big a temptation for him.
