Samir Nasri will be given a second chance to prove himself at Manchester City by new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Nasri has endured an up and down first two seasons at the Etihad Stadium after being lured from Arsenal by former City boss Roberto Mancini.
And there has been speculation that the French international may be sold to accommodate the clutch of new attacking players being brought to the club this summer.

But it is understood that Pellegrini – who only officially joined City at the end of last week – has already told sporting director Txiki Begiristain that he sees a future for Nasri if he wishes to stay.
City have already signed Spanish winger Jesus Navas and are currently fighting with Real Madrid for the signature of Malaga attacker Isco.
But despite this Pellegrini has made it clear he thinks Nasri has something to offer as he looks to build a squad capable of fighting with holders Manchester United for the Barclays Premier League title next season.
Nasri fell out with Mancini last season after comments the Italian made to the media.
Mancini suggested at one stage that Nasri was coasting after winning the league the previous year and then famously said he would like to ‘give a punch’ to the winger because of his inconsistency.
It remains to be seen now if Nasri wants to stay at City or head back to France where he has attracted interest from Monaco and PSG.
City, meanwhile, are continuing their efforts to sign Isco from Malaga but are aware that interest from Madrid is currently turning the 21-year-old’s head.
