The paperwork is being finalised this week for the Chilean to finally take over from Roberto Mancini at the Etihad.
And Seville winger Navas, 27, who has agreed to join City in a £21million deal, is excited about working with the former Real Madrid coach.
He said: “Everybody knows what Pellegrini brings. Wherever he has been, he has improved the performance of the players he has had.
“There is no doubting his capacity as a coach.
“I want to keep growing as a player. City loved me, others did not. City made a strong move for me and I never doubted that I should go to City.”
