Man City target Isco slams UEFA over Malaga Euro ban… which could force Spain U21 star closer to Etihad

Malaga midfielder Isco has slammed UEFA for enforcing their European competition ban on the Spanish club – a move which could see the Spain Under 21 star edge closer to Manchester City this summer.

The governing body have shut the door on Malaga’s involvement in either the Champions League or Europa League after they failed to adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations.

The Spain Under 21 star has slammed the decision and believes his club are being treated more harshly than necessary.

Isco wrote on his Twitter account: ‘It is embarrassing and shabby. It is completely unfair that they have treated Malaga different than many other teams with many more irregularities and debts.

‘They have taken away what we have earned on the field. Neither the players nor fans deserve this. I have no more to say.’

The decision to bar Malaga could also help Manchester City’s bid to Isco this summer as last season’s Barclays Premier League runners-up look to rebuild after the exit for former boss Roberto Mancini.

City hope to announce Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager in the coming days and the Chilean’s arrival could clear the path for £17million-rated Isco to join him at the Etihad Stadium.
