Our Dear Country of Somaliland is in the Grips of Multi-Faceted Crises

MUUSE4

Today, Somaliland our dear country is in the grips of multi-faceted crises. A crisis caused by hardship, Incompetence, Parochialism and systemic Corruption. This state of affairs must not endure any longer.

Our country, our government, our economy, our society and culture, our rule of law, our national security cannot withstand over any more years of this government’s indiscretion, usurpation of the Constitution, phony-crony capitalist corruption, strategy of dividing Somalilanders against each other, serial lying and dishonesty, and unrelieved failure and incompetence any longer.

The current government is the most corrupt, dishonest, incompetent, and divisive in anyone’s memory; that the presidency is one of utter failure, whether in terms of jobs and the economy or national security and foreign policy; that we can no longer afford such incompetence and failure

“When public money is stolen for private gain, it means fewer resources to build schools, hospitals, roads and water treatment facilities. When foreign aid is diverted into private bank accounts, major infrastructure projects come to a halt. Corruption enables fake or substandard medicines to be dumped on the market, and hazardous waste to be dumped in landfill sites and in oceans. The vulnerable suffer first and worst.”  It was the Message of United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on International Anti-Corruption Day 2009

Today; Corruption, Nepotism, Favouritism, Cronyism, Patronage, Graft, Embezzlement, Exploitation man by man and unnecessary piffle became popular in the current Somaliland government.
Lack of ethical leadership, scatty action, wretch style, wicked behavior, and sinful evil governance put the country in the brink of collapse and catastrophic situation and the people of Somaliland are staying in a position of shedding tears and sudden great disaster with misfortune.

The Silanyo’s administration had been marked by one scandal after the other, Therefore, for embracing corruption so much and providing succor to corrupt public officials; for threatening the country’s fragile unity through divisive policies and politics, for frittering away the nation’s resources through unprecedented cronyism and clannishness, for the gross human rights violations, and for a total failure of leadership will lead the country a widespread repercussions and every act of impunity of the government and the presidency will be met with stiff resistance in the form of a vociferous telegraphing of people power, the likes of which have not been witnessed in Somaliland.

Unfortunately, Self-indulgence, greed, ostentation, deceit, false pride, false consciousness, and the personalization of politics took over as politics in these days of our government. In fighting and factionalism based on-pure deceit; a criminology that was learnt from the late dictator of Somalia became part of our politics.

The people of Somaliland have been through their own struggle, the memory of this conflict is still fresh in the popular imagination and the people of this country would have been wiped out of the memory this crooked part of Africa. During the darkest times of the late dictatorship of Barre regime the people of this country, ordinary men and women, military officers and political leaders from Somaliland committed themselves to their heritage of rebellion against oppression, and regained their humanity. The dictatorship’s power was everywhere, its dread and might at close quarters, its spies and hanger-on in our hamlets and tea-shops, in our towns chasing after our young men in the mid-day sun to fight “invaders”, the NSS and the Hangash were everywhere, the dictatorship seemed like invincible police state. The social and cultural fabric of society had been invaded by a cancer of division and suspicion based on the dictatorships strategy of divide and rule which we believed would last forever.

The message is:  Enough is enough! We have to have this obstructive Government out of the way so we can start bringing greater freedom and prosperity, more jobs and less government control to Somaliland.

We want this corrupt fascist out of the Presidency, and we should avoid any illegal extension of their term, in which they will relentlessly continue to destroy our economy and put our national security in gravest danger.

In conclusion, I strongly condemn the indefinite ban of Haatuf News Media and Hubaal Newspaper and urge the government to immediately lift the bans on both the news media outlets and provide redress for the violation of these newspapers’ rights, including paying damages for any losses caused to the publications.

God save Somaliland
