Hargeisa, (SM) -Telesom, Somaliland’s leading Telecommunication and Internet Service Provider Company has donated clothes, shoes and cosmetics to mentally ill women in Macruuf Society run hospital in eastern outskirts of Hargeisa city as part of celebrations to mark the Eid-al-Fidri Day that culminates the holy month of Ramadan.
The head of Telesom’s marketing department Mr. Abdirahman Adan Ismail (Aar) who spoke at a ceremony held for the handing over Telesom’s donations to the mentally ill women in Macruuf Society run hospital thanked Macruuf Society for taking care of the mentally handicapped women patients.
Mr. Aar also highlighted Telesom’s role in the provisions and development of social amenities to the community at large by contributing in mental patients, construction of roads, hospitals, mosques and establishing orphanage centers nationwide.
“There is nothing as satisfying as helping a needy person. This is why we visited the mental hospital to feed, clothe as well as share a light moment with our sisters” Mr. Aar said while speaking at the ceremony.
Speaking at the fun-filled handing over ceremony at the Macruuf mental facility, Sheikh Abdirahman Mohamed Hassan, head of the Macruuf Society which runs the mentally ill women facility narrated the development stages of the mentally ill women facility. The head of Macruuf Society was also full of praise to Telesom saying that he hopes their kindness will not stop and that they will always keep the forgotten patients close to their heart. He also called Telesom to maintain the momentum and not disengage from taking parts in such communal ventures that are beneficial to the society.
Sheikh Abdirahman also praised the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) role spearheaded by the Telecommunication guru acknowledging Telesom’s donations in social care and development projects while calling other business outfits to emulate their exemplary model.
Finally, the head of Telesom’s marketing department Mr. Abdirahman Adan Ismail (Aar) officially handed the clothes, shoes and other essentials to the management of the Macruuf society -run mentally ill woman facility who were really touched by benevolence and kind gesture from the Telesom Company.
