Somalia : Four people killed as Ethiopian aircraft crash lands at Mogadishu airport

 By Standard Digital –  Four people died after their aircraft that was ferrying supplies to African Union Mission to Somalia ( Amisom) troops burst into flames moments after crash-landing at the international airport in Mogadishu.

Two others were rescued from the burning aircraft that had crew from Ethiopia. The aircraft crashed shortly after 8am Friday morning.

Amisom posted on its Twitter account that firefighters responded quickly and managed to save the two crew members who are currently being treated at the Amisom hospital in Mogadishu.

Amisom is a regional peacekeeping mission operated by the African Union with the approval of the United Nations.

The troops were deployed to Somalia to battle Islamist militant group Al Shabaab and regularly use the Mogadishu airport.
