Just days after City’s emphatic 4-1 win over Manchester United; former England striker Gary Lineker has backed the Blues to go the whole way this season.
“City, the Red Devils and Chelsea all changed managers in the summer, while Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal did some impressive business in the transfer window,” the website reports.
“It has led to an unpredictable start to the new campaign but, after watching the Blues dismantle David Moyes’ side last weekend, Lineker believes Manuel Pellegrini’s men may have the edge on their rivals.”
Lineker said: “This season is hugely unpredictable. With Manchester United changing things so much, City having a new manager, Jose back at Chelsea, the huge changes at Spurs, [Mesut] Ozil coming in at Arsenal, even Liverpool making a resurgence, I think it could well be the most open season in years.”

“Richards hopes to re-establish himself at Manchester City and earn an England recall, but fears missing out on the World Cup,” the website claims.
“The versatile defender is still only 25 years of age, so time remains very much on his side.

“The 27-year-old Uruguayan triggered interest from City, Chelsea and Liverpool though nothing materialised.
“City brought in Atletico’s Martin Demichelis, although Manuel Pellegrini was keen to re-connect with Godin.
“According to a report on German football website 4-4-2.com, Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp is keeping an eye on Godin with a view to making a move in January.”
