 Al Shabaab militant group of Somalia have held on Eid day  a horse racing event in-front of a huge crowd of people from Ceel Buur town of Gal Guduud region in Southern Somalia.
The event which coincided with Eid Adha,  included horse racing and  horse riding  by Al Shabab militants . High ranking members of Al Shabaab leaders  as well as well huge crowd from the public have attended the event.
It has become a tradition for Al Shabaab to hold celebratory events in the parts of Somalia that they control.
Al Shabaab , an offshoot of Islamic Courts Union (ICU) that were ousted  during the Ethiopian invasion of Somalia in Dec. 2006 , control large parts of Southern Somalia while the  weak Somalia government is holed up in fortresses guarded by the African Union Forces (Amisom) in Mogadishu.
