“making the Somaliland future” by Professor Ahmed Ismail Samatar

Somaliland communities in London would like to invite you to a talk at Arts 2 Lecture theatre, Queen Mary University, E1, on Sunday 12th January 2014, 4pm- 8pm.

We are delighted that professor Samatar will be sharing his findings only two days after his return from Somaliland.

After 20 years of absence from Somaliland and its politics, Professor Samatar had visited Somaliland twice in the last 6 months and extensively engaged with Somaliland people and Government.

Professor Ahmed Ismail Samatar is a prominent writer, scholar and former Dean of the Institute for Global Citizenship at Macalester College. He is the founding editor of Bildhaan: an International Journal of Somali Studies. Professor Samatar has lectured at many universities and colleges, including Cornell, Harvard, Iowa, London School of Economics and Political Science, Somali National University.

Everyone is welcome to attend this event, Somaliland students and professionals in the UK are particularly encouraged to attend.

The talk will be followed by question and answer session with Professor Ahmed Ismail Samatar.
