LIVE: Manchester United vs Manchester City – follow all the Premier League derby action as it happens

Follow Sportsmail’s coverage of the Barclays Premier League as Manchester United host Manchester City at Old Trafford in a huge derby.

The battle of Manchester sees the champions take on one of the leading teams in the title race as Manuel Pellegrini’s side travel to the Theatre of Dreams, with City starting as favourites on United’s territory for the first time in Premier League history.

David Moyes’ outfit have already seen any realistic chance of retaining their title disappear in a poor season, but will be keen to deny their rivals a chance of claiming their crown while also pushing for an outside shot of reaching a top four spot.

There will be a touch of Klass at Old Trafford…

Even those at the Countdown studios are rushing out of work this evening, with Rachel Riley seen leaving the set to head to Old Trafford for the derby.

The countdown star is a massive Manchester United fan and she will be joined by Myleene Klass at the Theatre of Dreams this evening.

Half-half scarves hit the derby…

Villa vs Stoke, United vs City and just about every Premier League fixture inbetween those in terms of magnitude now seems to have half-and-half scarves, and I’m still not certain why you would get one.

European games (where it all started) are okay, as such fixtures can be a rarity but when you play each other twice every year, there seems little point – especially in a derby too…

Jack Gaughan reports: Sir Bobby Charlton maintains that Manchester United have definitely picked the right man in David Moyes, despite the club’s turbulent campaign.

United have struggled so far this season – with Moyes under intense pressure from some quarters – and go into Tuesday’s derby with City as underdogs at home for the first time in their history.

But while Charlton concedes the club have played ‘really, really badly’ this year, he rejects the suggestion that it’s time for a change at the top.

Wayne Rooney scored a stunning goal from nearly 60 yards at the weekend, and the England striker has been back on the training pitch practicing his skills again before the derby.

It’s not long range belters which Rooney has been firing in though, but corner kicks, as the 28-year-old took part in a corner kick challenge. Watch the video here.
