Sixteen-year-old Aisha Abbas has been taking care of her family in Eastleigh since her mother was arrested 10 days ago. Denish Ochieng, NairobiNewsA six-month-old baby girl died after being left alone in her cot when her mother was arrested in the Eastleigh crackdown.

The girl’s mother was taken to Kasarani stadium and locked in there for three days—in spite of telling police that she had left her baby at home.

When she returned she found her little girl lying dead. It was believed she had starved to death.

And in another tragic case an expectant mother who was released from Kasarani after police became concerned at her condition went home to give birth—only to deliver twins who died in her arms moments later.

Police, however, denied knowledge of the deaths terming the reports “lies”.
