Since the Somaliland ruling party had a leadership dispute, the country has been abandoned in terms of security, implementing the rule of the law, and serving its citizens. The ruling party kidnapped the interest of the country. The ruling party has a reputation for lying and ruining the lives of the Somaliland people. Therefore, I am going to appeal to all Somalianders to take care of the security of the land and to not wait for any safeguard from the current regime.
Last week the foreign minister mentioned the postponing of the talks between Somalia and Somaliland. He reasoned the postponing is the result of the Kulmiye party conflict.
Not only that, the elder’s house also neglected their jobs after they melted up the contention of Kulmiye Party. They supposed to strive how they confessed the eastern region’s tribes to be a part of Somaliland and ended the hostility of the eastern regions. Taleex was a big issue for the last two months and House of elders did not do anything; they not even condemned or submitted their concern.
Their mandate is to work the interest of the country and let them resolve the parties their conflict. The Somaliland constitution sets the institutions those who authorized to solve the conflicts
As everybody knows, the two neighbour countries closed their borders for the reason behind terrorist conducted their operations in Djibouti Hotels on May 24, 2014. The terrorists that carried out the operation crossed from the border of Somaliland
Not only that, but the conflict of the party created upheaval after the deputy of interior minister opened his mouth and accused some of the ministers of affiliated fundamentalist. In contrast, the government has revenged by sending him the Ripped Response Unit (RRU) to his house at midnight which used excessive force and harmed the family of the Minister.
The current government doesn’t have a vision and at the same time it does not know how to manage the conflict. These two examples tell us that the party’s issues have been ongoing since the day a scheduled convention party started which was for the last two and half years and the issue is still not solved. The second issue is the deputy minister issue. This issue is generating fiasco after the human rights organizations got involved and sent the delegation which wants to know the reality. They were going to visit him and at the same time have him interviewed. It really hurts the recognition of the country and the status of Somaliland people who don’t understand the current regime.
The current government does not handle criticism or the truth very well. On the other hands, it responds immediately with excessive actions without hesitations and without thinking of the consequences. For example, the Haatuf newspaper reveals stories that are related to one minister and the son-in-law of the president. The government ordered for closing the newspaper indefinitely and also jailed the owner and the editor of the newspaper as well as fined a huge amount of money. This kind of aggression hurts the interest of the country. Since the owner and the editor were jailed and the Haatuf was closed, the international community has condemned the act. At the same time, those who endeavour to sell the recognition of Somaliland are facing embarrassment.
Again I am going to appeal to all Somalianders to take care of the security of the land and to not wait for any safeguard from the current regime.
