Follow Sportsmail’s coverage of the Champions League as Manchester City host Barcelona at the Etihad Stadium to help begin the week’s European action.
City go into their first leg last 16 tie against Barcelona hoping to gain revenge on the Spanish outfit for their exit from Europe’s premier club competition at the same stage last season, and Manuel Pellegrini’s team are in good form having hammered Newcastle 5-0 on Saturday.
Barca won 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium last year, and with former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez in their ranks, will be confident of seeing off the Premier League champions.Â

Not the players, but the Champions League trophy witch sits pitchside at an otherwise empty ground so far.
This game is sold out, and one hopes the home fans can help create a lively atmosphere this evening. Even at 5-0 up against Newcastle last Saturday it seemed a little quiet in this part of Manchester!
